About State Contracts

State Contracts are the principal method of purchasing for Government agencies across New South Wales. Over 100 State Contracts have been approved under the authority of the State Contracts Control Board (SCCB)

You can search or browse the website for information on state contracts and how to buy products and services. nswbuy provides more than 180,000 products and services to agencies and delivers savings of around $330 million a year.

Product categories include travel, property management and maintenance, telecommunications, utilities, food, educational supplies, health and hygiene, hardware and construction, office and workplace, transport, information technology, and recruitment and services.

Who is eligible to purchase from State Contracts?

The following list covers all eligible customer categories:

  • (a) Any public sector service agency employing staff appointed under the Public Sector Employment and Management Act 2002;
  • (b) A public body as defined by clause 18(4) of the Public Sector Management (Goods and Services) Regulation 2000:
    • (i) A government trading enterprise (including a State owned corporation);
    • (ii) A public or private hospital (including an area health service);
    • (iii) Councils and local government agencies;
    • (iv) A charity or other community non-profit organisation;
    • (v) A public or private school or a college or university;
    • (vi) A public authority of this State, the Commonwealth or of any other State or Territory;
    • (vii) A contractor to a public authority (but only in respect of things done as such a contractor);

All customers must be officially registered with NSW Procurement before they can purchase from State Contracts. Note: The above list is applicable to most State Contracts; however, there may be variations to this, depending on the scope of the contract.
