M 2008-06-State Property Authority and Government Property Principles

The State Property Authority has been established as a corporation with functions relating to the acquisition, management and disposal of Government owned property.

The Authority is the Government’s real estate services provider and is responsible for acquiring and managing Government’s generic and, by agreement, other property assets (such as offices, warehouses, depots and car parks).

To assist the State Property Authority to achieve its legislated objectives, the Government has approved a new property policy framework. The framework outlines the relationship between agencies and the State Property Authority in the acquisition, management, maintenance and disposal of property.

Office Accommodation Strategic Plan (TAM06-05)

A strategic, cross-agency approach to accommodation planning and management is integral to the success of the Government’s accommodation reforms. Agencies’ strategies for managing their office accommodation are key enablers. These strategies are part of an agency’s Asset Strategy, and should be developed at a whole-of-agency level with clear links to the agency’s Corporate Plan to ensure a strategic approach to the management of this important resource.

M2003-3-Property Disposal Reforms

Budget and non-budget dependent agencies are required to prepare a Property Disposal Plan (PDP) and submit it to the Government Asset Management Committee for consideration. The PDP is considered an integral part of an agency's overall asset management strategy and needs to demonstrate clear linkages to desired service outcomes.
