Step 6 - PROCUREMENT EVALUATION
The project has been commissioned.
The procurement evaluation involves collecting knowledge gained throughout a project, and using it to ascertain whether community needs and expectations have been fulfilled and whether ‘value for money’ has been achieved. The procurement evaluation step should elicit ideas for improving and optimising the meeting of community needs and stakeholder satisfaction in the outcomes of procurement projects in the future.
Review outcomes against objectives
The project’s outcomes are objectively evaluated against the aims and objectives developed in the business case/ investment justification in Stage 2 to see whether they were met. Asset performance is measured against the project brief.
Assess service providers performance and value for money
The procurement process and the supplier’s performance should be assessed to ensure that value for money was achieved.
Capture and disseminate lessons learned
The evaluation of outcomes should elicit ideas from improving and optimising user/stakeholder satisfaction in the delivery of similar projects in the future.
The Gateway Review process has a provision for a post implementation review that agencies may choose to undertake on the project.
