Risk Assessment Tool
The Risk Assessment Tool is a web based rating tool designed to identify the potential risks that can occur on government programs or projects. The tool uses a standard set of criteria to develop a high level risk profile that consider the:
- definition and scope
- impact on government services
- imapct of on the public or community
- agency's capability and capacity to deliver
- industry's capability to deliver
The risk assessment assists agencies in determining, at an early stage, the resources and controls that will be needed to manage the project or program. It is important to remember that the output of the tool is not a replacement for a detailed risk study, risk assessment and risk management plan.
The Risk Assessment Tool is the first step in the Gateway Review process, and an assessment must be undertaken for all projects undergoing a Gateway Review.
